Branding agency in the UAE

A brand that works in Arabic and English.

A mark that works in English and breaks in Arabic is half a brand. We build identity systems that hold their shape in both scripts and across every Gulf market you enter.

Brand Identity Design

The marks, the colour and type system, the rules for both scripts, and templates for the documents you issue weekly. Most identities that arrive here are drawn well and simply incomplete, so the work is usually finishing one rather than replacing it.

Engagement · The first twelve weeks

Arabic comes before the sketch.

A mark that cannot be set in Arabic is discovered at rollout, when it is expensive. The bilingual decisions are made in week one, with the positioning.

01Weeks 1 to 3

Positioning across your markets.

This phase produces no design. What it produces is a written position, the list of markets the brand actually trades in, and the licence scope that limits them. The script decision is made here too, because it constrains the name, the mark and the typeface all at once. Signed off before anything is drawn.

  • OutputA written position, signed before design
  • SettledWhich scripts the system must hold
02Weeks 4 to 8

A mark for both scripts.

The mark, a typeface with a real Arabic companion, and the rules for how the system behaves right to left. Tokens for colour, type and spacing are defined in the same pass, so the identity arrives ready to be built rather than ready to be interpreted. Both scripts are drawn together, never one then the other.

  • OutputMark, type system, tokens, both scripts
  • ReviewedRead by a native reader of each
03Weeks 9 to 12

The surfaces that carry weight.

Licence documents, signage, the deck and the site come from one brief and get proofed together. A small team then has to run the brand without a designer in the room, so the handover is a system they can use rather than a document they must interpret. The test is whether the fifth application still looks like the first.

  • OutputApplied system, editable source, handover
  • ProofedEvery surface, in both scripts

Both scripts on every surface, proofed before it ships. If the Arabic cannot be set properly, the mark changes, not the Arabic.

From the field · Gulf brand

Why an imported brand fails.

Four things change what an identity has to do in this market. None of them show up in a brand brief written somewhere else.

  1. 01of 04
Imported identity27,121 new leases vs 10,961 renewals

Most identities here were designed for somewhere else.

New office leases outnumbered renewals nearly three to one last quarter, so most brands trading here arrived rather than started. An identity built for the home market is being asked to signal local legitimacy, which is the one job it was never briefed for.

  2. 02of 04
Who is actually lookingOccupier demand, Q2 2026

The audience is a buying committee, not a shopper.

Demand concentrates in financial services, technology, trading and professional services. That audience reads a brand for credibility rather than personality, so the work is proving the company is real and competent, not making it likeable. Consumer-brand instincts actively misfire.

  3. 03of 04
Licence scopeExecutive Council Resolution 11 of 2025

The licence limits what the brand is allowed to promise.

A free-zone entity generally cannot sell direct to mainland customers without a distributor, a branch, or a permit under Resolution 11 of 2025. A positioning line claiming the whole country is a claim the licence contradicts, and the verbal system is the most expensive part of an identity to change later.

  4. 04of 04
No brand guardian66% of Q2 2026 leasing under 500 sq ft

    Nothing in-house enforces the guidelines.

Two-thirds of new leases last quarter were units under 500 sq ft, so the team applying the brand is small and has no design lead. A system that needs interpreting will be interpreted differently every time. It has to be usable by whoever opens the file on a Tuesday.

The decision · What to do with what you have

Rebuild, extend, or leave it.

Most companies arriving here already own an identity. The question is not whether it is good, but whether it survives this market unchanged.

When it is rightThe mark genuinely does not survive this marketThe brand is a placeholder and everyone knows itThere is equity worth keeping and gaps worth closing
When a rebuild is right.

A rebrand is right when the mark cannot be set in Arabic without redrawing it, when the name means something unfortunate in a market you sell to, or when the positioning has genuinely changed. Those are the three we would tell you to rebuild for. Wanting a fresh start is not on the list, and we will say so before you spend on one.

How this practice works

What makes the difference.

Not a philosophy. Four decisions about sequence and handover that most of this work gets wrong.

01Positioning first · Nothing drawn before sign-off

Nothing is drawn until the positioning is signed.

The first phase produces no design at all. A mark drawn before the market and the scripts are settled is a guess, and once it exists everyone starts defending it. The cost of changing it rises every week it stays in use.

02Bilingual · Decided at naming

Arabic decided with the name.

Typeface pairing, right-to-left behaviour and how the mark sits in both scripts are settled while the name is still changeable. Retrofitting a second script to a finished identity is how a company ends up with two logos that do not look related.

03One team · Brand through production

The people who draw it apply it.

The identity is not handed to a production house with a guidelines document. The same team takes it to signage, deck and site. Most of the drift between a brand book and what a company actually looks like enters at that handover.

04Proofing · Both scripts, every surface

Nothing ships unread in both scripts.

Every application is proofed in Arabic and English by someone who reads each, before it reaches a printer or a production build. Machine-translated signage is the most visible way a brand tells this market it was made somewhere else.

How the system holds · 03 principles

Built for print and Arabic.

A brand system is only as good as what happens when a five-person team applies it without you. Three principles keep the identity intact.

Guidelines as Figma, not PDF

The system ships as an editable file, not a document about a file.

  • An editable Figma system is infrastructure, not a reference document
  • Both scripts live in the same file, so nobody rebuilds the Arabic later
  • Extended by any competent design team without coming back to us
