Healthcare marketing · UAE

More booked healthcare appointments, cleared through the right authority.

In the UAE the authority that licensed your clinic is usually not the one that licenses its advertising. Which one you answer to changes by emirate and by free zone.

The four authorities

Four authorities, each with a different job

Four regulators share this country by geographical jurisdiction, and the DHA standard names all four. Which one licenses your advertising is the first thing to settle.

Two licences, two authoritiesDHA licenses the clinic, MOHAP the ad

Your clinic’s licensing authority is usually not the one licensing its advertising.

The Dubai Health Authority sends health advertisement matters to the Ministry of Health and Prevention on its own service page, and the word advertisement appears nowhere in its facility or professional service catalogues. There is no DHA health advertisement licence to apply for. Most clinics have been told there is.

Our methodThe route is confirmed against the regulator’s own service page before a campaign is scoped.

The licence expiresPer channel, with a start and an end date

A health advertisement licence is issued per channel, with an expiry date.

The approved design is printed carrying the approval and the start and expiry dates. Website and social media are licensed as separate advertisements, so an account opened later is not covered by the licence a print run holds. Each channel is its own application on your route.

Our methodEvery licence held for a client is tracked with its channel and its expiry date.

The medical director signsDHA social media standard, clause 5.3

Naming your facility needs the medical director’s approval, whoever posts it.

The DHA standard puts that approval on the medical director and makes the facility liable for anything filmed inside it, on a staff phone or an influencer’s account as much as on the official one. An agency cannot sign this off, so the sign-off belongs in the schedule.

Our methodCreative reaches the medical director on a named date, before any media booking.

Patients still choose nearbyMap pack and reviews

A Jumeirah dermatology clinic is chosen in the map pack and reviews.

A clinic with a better rating takes the booking from one with a better surgeon, and the content standard bars every other comparative claim you might answer with. The rating is the one number you are allowed to compete on, which is why the review work starts first.

Our methodProfile, reviews and treatment pages run while the first submission is prepared.

Healthcare marketing in the UAE

What healthcare marketing must clear first

Being found nearby, earning trust on reviews and taking the booking are the same three steps here. What changes is what may be said at each step, and who signs it off.

searchesbooked appointment01Foundnear-me search02Trustreviews and rating win03Bookedshows up, not clicksBooked appointmentNo-show drop-off

Found nearby

Dental, dermatology and aesthetic clinics compete inside a few streets of Jumeirah or Al Barsha. A patient searching for a clinic is almost always searching for one near them, so the profile and the treatment pages do more than the advertising will.

Trusted

Reviews carry the decision in health further than in any other category, and the DHA standard already bars the superlatives a weaker competitor reaches for. The rating is the one claim you may make with a number attached.

Booked

Intent lasts about as long as the front desk takes to answer. Online booking, a WhatsApp confirmation and a reminder before the day turn an enquiry into someone who arrives, and the reminder is where the no-shows go.

The approval routes

Three routes, chosen by where you are licensed

Every UAE health advertisement runs through one of three routes. The emirate and the free zone on your facility licence decide which one, not where the campaign runs.

Groups can be on **two routes** at once

A clinic with a Jumeirah branch and an Abu Dhabi branch answers to two authorities for the same treatment, on two submissions with two sets of documents. Webzenia settles the route for each address before anything is written, so one campaign does not stall on the branch nobody checked. A clinic paying a creator also needs that individual’s Advertiser Permit from the National Media Authority, which marketing in Dubai sets out. Demand by emirate is read on Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

Six capabilities, run together. The profile and the booking path start in week one, so the clinic is not waiting on an approval to take its next patient.

Is this right for you?

Who this suits, and who takes another route

This page is written for licensed private health facilities and the professionals inside them. If you are not licensed as a health facility, your advertising sits under a different regime and we will say so.

This is for you if

  • You run a dental, dermatology or licensed aesthetic clinic. These are the specialties that actually advertise here, and the ones most exposed when it goes wrong.
  • You hold a DHA, DoH, DHCR or MOHAP facility licence with a trade licence underneath it, and the two do not always name the same address.
  • You have branches in more than one emirate, so a single campaign is already carrying more than one approval route.
  • You run a multi-specialty clinic, a day-surgery unit or a diagnostics centre with treatments you want to promote by name.
  • Your last agency shot a before-and-after set the medical director would not sign, or opened accounts with no licence number on them.
  • You want to know which authority you answer to for each address before anyone commissions a shoot.

It is not the right fit if

  • You are a salon med-spa, a wellness studio or a supplement brand with no health facility licence. That advertising runs under a trade licence and the Advertiser Permit, not this route.
  • You are a hospital buying marketing through a tender and a committee. That is a procurement process, and a contact form is the wrong door for it.
  • You are a healthtech or telehealth platform. Your binding instrument is Federal Law No. 2 of 2019 on ICT in health fields, not the advertisement regime.
  • You want creative live next week and the material has not reached the medical director yet. On one of these routes that is not a schedule that exists.

How the engagement runs

Settle the route, then build on it

The first thing Webzenia establishes is which authority licenses your advertising, per address. Everything after that is different depending on the answer.

01Weeks 1 to 2Settled

Which authority licenses each address

We read the facility licence, the professional licences and the trade licence underneath them, then confirm which authority licenses the advertisement for every address you operate from. A group holding a Dubai Healthcare City clinic and an Abu Dhabi branch is on two routes, and they take different documents and different lead times. Existing accounts are checked against the DHA content standard at the same time: the licence number on the official account, the specialty titles in the bios, and the before-and-after sets already published.

  • Routeconfirmed per address, not per brand
  • Documentslisted per route before anything is shot
  • Accountschecked against the DHA content standard

Profile, reviews and the booking path

The Business Profile is completed against the facility licence, treatment pages are written for the specialties you are licensed for, and the booking path is shortened so an enquiry becomes an appointment on the same visit. Reviews start, with a reply on each one in the language it was written in. In parallel the first submission is assembled for your route: the material in final form, the licence numbers, the consent records, and the substantiation behind anything numeric.

  • Profilecomplete and verified against the licence
  • Bookingshortened to a single visit
  • Submissionassembled to your route and filed

Run each route on its own clock

Creative publishes once the approval on that route is issued, and every licence is tracked against its own expiry so nothing lapses unnoticed. Edits go back through the route before they publish, because a changed advertisement is a new advertisement: in Dubai Healthcare City the six-month approval is void the moment the text, the photo or the video changes. Reporting is on booked appointments and what one costs, which is the number the owner and the medical director can both argue from.

  • Renewalstracked against every expiry date
  • Editsre-approved on the route before publishing

Our commitment

What Webzenia will not publish for you

Every one of these is a line in a regulator’s own published standard, not a house rule. The clinic carries the liability, so the constraint is ours to hold.

  • Nothing runs before the approval

No advertisement is published before its licence is issued on the route your facility is on. Where a date cannot be met, we move the date rather than the material.

  • The licence number goes on the account

The DHA standard requires the official account to state the medical advertisement licence number MOHAP issued. We put it there, and keep it current when the licence renews.

  • No banned superlatives

The standard names them: unique, the only, safest, guaranteed success, no side effects, immediate results. None appears in creative we write, whatever the clinic down the road is running.

  • Before-and-after to the standard

Same individual, same lens, no retouching, and the required statement that results may vary, set in the same size as the rest of the post. If a set cannot meet that, it does not run.

  • Consent on file before publication

Written patient consent is held before any image, quote or outcome is published, and health data never enters an ad-platform audience. PDPL makes consent the lawful basis, and health data its most sensitive category.

  • Every claim is substantiated

Any statistic or scientific reference ships with the study behind it, which is what Abu Dhabi asks for in writing. We do not publish a number we cannot source, including our own.

Checked before every publish, and against the standard that governs your route.
