Customer story
Visits and DTC orders up 2.8x for a Nashik winery, off OTAs and distributors.
A Nashik valley winery filled its tasting room through OTA commissions and sold most of its bottles through distributors, giving up margin on both channels. Webzenia built vineyard, experience and wine club content alongside a direct ordering path, so visitors planning a Nashik trip and buyers wanting a case of wine could reach the estate without an intermediary.

The challenge
Weekend visitors to Nashik's wine country book most of their tastings through OTA platforms, and a Nashik valley winery paid a commission on every one of those bookings, a cost that scaled with every visitor regardless of whether they ever became a repeat customer. Its bottles reached buyers beyond the estate mainly through distributors, another cut taken before a single glass was poured.
Someone planning a Nashik weekend or wanting to order a case of wine typically searched a general term first, a vineyard tour, a wine style, and found the winery listed on an OTA or a review site rather than on its own pages. That meant the winery never captured a visitor's or a buyer's contact details directly, and had no way to invite either of them back without paying the same intermediary again.
The approach
Webzenia mapped how a Nashik weekend visitor and a wine buyer actually search, from vineyard tour and tasting terms to specific grape and wine style queries, and built vineyard, experience and wine club content that let the winery's own pages compete for those searches directly.
Google Business Profile work brought the tasting room's hours, booking link and photos up to date, so a nearby search sent visits straight to the winery rather than through an aggregator.
Alongside the visitor content, the team set up a direct ordering path for the wine club, a fast checkout built for someone who already knows the label and wants a case delivered, aimed at a different buyer moment than the tasting room visit.
Technical work improved page speed on mobile, since a slow site was quietly pushing undecided visitors back toward the OTA listing they had started from.
The results
Vineyard visits and direct to consumer orders combined grew 2.8x over eight months. Both channels started pulling from the same organic search rather than from paid listings and distributors.
More than 30 wine and tasting terms reached the top three results, giving the winery's own pages a real chance against the OTA listings that used to win those searches by default.
Cost per booking fell 49%. Fewer visits now arrive through a commission, and the wine club orders that come alongside them carry none of the OTA cut at all.
