Customer story
NRI buyer enquiries up 2.8x for a Kochi developer, off Gulf roadshows and agents.
A Kochi real-estate developer relied on Gulf roadshows and local agents to reach NRI buyers. Webzenia built project and locality content with hreflang for the overseas investor researching from outside the city, giving the developer a direct channel to Gulf buyers.

The challenge
A Kochi real-estate developer built premium apartment projects aimed squarely at NRI buyers in the Gulf, but reaching them meant flying a sales team to a property expo in Dubai or Abu Dhabi twice a year and paying local agents a referral fee on whatever they closed in between.
NRI buyers researched a project long before any roadshow, checking RERA status, builder track record and locality details from wherever they lived, often at odd hours relative to Kochi office time. The developer's site read like it was written for a local walk-in buyer, with none of the remittance, legal or NRI-specific process detail an overseas investor needed to trust a purchase from a distance. Every enquiry that went through a Gulf agent instead of arriving direct cost the developer a referral fee on one of its highest-value units.
The approach
The team's research started with what an NRI investor actually searches before committing: Ahrefs and Google Search Console data separated general Kochi property searches from NRI-specific intent, RERA status, builder history, remittance process, and the locality questions someone researching from outside the city actually asks.
Project pages went up that answered an overseas buyer's process questions directly, alongside locality content covering the neighbourhoods each project sat in, written for someone who could not simply drive over and look.
Because the buyer base concentrated in a handful of Gulf cities, hreflang routed Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha searches to the page built for that market's context, instead of one generic page trying to serve all three.
Technical SEO cleared load-time issues that mattered on the slower connections some overseas buyers browsed on, and a CRM integration tied every enquiry back to the project page and query that produced it, so the sales team could see which locality content was actually converting.
The results
NRI buyer enquiries grew 2.8x over nine months. Investors who once waited for the next Gulf roadshow started reaching out directly, between expos rather than only during them.
The developer's projects now rank across 5 Gulf markets, with hreflang sending each city's searches to the page built for it. A Dubai-based buyer and a Doha-based buyer each land on content addressing their own process, not a generic page splitting attention across both.
Cost per enquiry fell 47%, since a direct enquiry carries no agent referral fee. On a project's highest-value units, that saving is worth more than the roadshow spend it replaced.
