Customer story

International B2B enquiries up 3.0x for a Sitapura jewellery exporter, off trade shows and agents.

A Sitapura jewellery exporter depended on trade shows and sourcing agents for every overseas buyer. Webzenia built product, category and capability content with hreflang for the procurement buyers who vet a supplier online first, giving the exporter a direct international enquiry channel.

The challenge

Inside Jaipur's Sitapura SEZ, a jewellery exporter cut and set gemstones for buyers across the Gulf, Europe and the US, but its calendar ran on trade shows. Those weeks brought the leads, and the months between brought very little.

Sourcing agents filled some of the gap, at a cut that came straight off the exporter's margin. Overseas buyers researching a new supplier rarely reached the exporter's own site first. When they did, it showed finished pieces with no detail on stone sourcing, certification or minimum order quantities, the details a procurement buyer needs before a first call. Every enquiry that went to an agent instead of arriving direct was margin already spent.

The approach

Webzenia mapped the sourcing terms overseas jewellery buyers actually type, using Ahrefs and Google Search Console to separate consumer jewellery searches from the B2B sourcing language: stone certification, hallmarking, cut grades, minimum order quantities.

Product, category and capability pages went up against that map, each one written for a procurement buyer deciding whether to fly out for a factory visit, not a retail shopper browsing designs. Certification and compliance detail moved to the front of the page instead of being buried in a downloadable catalogue.

Because the buyer base spanned several regions, the team added hreflang so a Gulf buyer and a European buyer landed on the version built for their market, and the pages stopped competing against each other in search results.

Screaming Frog audits cleared crawl and indexation issues across the catalogue, and off-page work earned links from trade directories and gem and jewellery industry press, lifting the domain's authority against exporters who had been ranking for years.

The results

International B2B enquiries grew 3.0x over nine months. Buyers who once waited for the next trade show started reaching out between events, giving the sales team a pipeline that did not reset every few months.

22 export terms reached the top three results, covering the sourcing and certification searches a procurement buyer runs while vetting a new supplier. Enquiries arrived already understanding what the exporter could make and certify.

The catalogue now ranks across 6 overseas markets. With hreflang routing each buyer to the version built for their region, a Gulf jeweller and a European retailer each land on content written for them, not a generic export page competing for both.
