The challenge

A premium Mumbai yoga and meditation platform had built a strong web product for urban professionals but had no iOS app. Its audience was overwhelmingly iPhone-first, and the brand was meeting them in a mobile browser instead of on the home screen.

The result was churn. Subscribers were dropping off mobile web at high rates, because a daily-practice product lives or dies on whether it is one tap away at 6 am. A browser tab is not a habit.

For a premium subscription, the experience also had to feel premium. The brand needed a native iOS app that matched its positioning and the standards its iPhone audience expected from the App Store.

The approach

Webzenia built a native iOS subscription app in Swift, chosen so the product could use platform features and animation at the standard an iPhone-first, premium audience expects. This was a deliberately single-platform build, focused where the audience actually was.

The subscription flow ran through native in-app purchase and App Store Connect, the path Apple users already trust, with no clumsy web redirect to break the upgrade. Sign-in, content delivery, and progress were handled through Firebase so a practice picked up where the member left off across devices.

The interface was crafted in Figma to feel calm and considered, in keeping with a meditation product, with a home screen built to start a session in one tap. Polish was treated as part of retention, not decoration.

We instrumented the app with Sentry to keep crashes near zero through launch, since a stutter during a guided session reads as a broken promise. The build ran 14 weeks.

The results

The app reached 2,100 paid iOS subscribers in three months from a standing start. Every one converted through native in-app purchase, with no web redirect to break the upgrade.

Month-3 churn came in at 8.2%, against a 22% category benchmark. The practice now lived on the home screen instead of a browser tab, which is what a daily-habit product needs.

It launched with a 4.8 App Store rating. The polish landed with an audience that judges apps harshly, giving the brand a durable subscription base rather than a launch spike.
