Have you seen the recent ad where a giant Barbie walks next to the Burj Khalifa? This happened during the release of the Barbie movie.
Oppenheimer’s marketing team took this as an opportunity to jump on the bandwagon and re-created the same ad, except this time, we found Oppenheimer saluting to Barbie at the Burj Khalifa. This was a clever marketing strategy because both movies had the same release dates.
The ad got thousands of views and appreciation and created the much-wanted hype around both these cinemas.
Our take
CGI ads are taking the world by storm and are adapting to many industries. In June 2024, Pandora, a Danish jewelry company, released a CGI ad when it debuted at the Copenhagen Fashion Week. We saw the building opening inwards and locks being exposed
CGI ads took the world by storm during and after the pandemic, when it became difficult for the world to leave their homes. Since CGI ads are harder to make, take more time, and require an experienced graphic designer, they are not as common. This is why the ads provide an entertainment value to the audience and maintain a brand presence.
Well-known fashion and beauty companies like Jaquemus, Maybelline, L’Oreal have launched CGI ads to maintain their brand identity. We believe that over time, as it becomes cheaper to create CGI ads, more companies will hop onto this bandwagon and we might see new and interesting products making their way onto iconic places all over the world.
